Elena,Its not an easy task being an ordinary parent to an extraordinary child. I failed in that task and because of my prejudices I failed you. Im haunted by how things might have played out differently if I’d been more willing to hear your side of things. For me it’s the end. For a chance for you to grow old and do something better with your child. For that child that I give you my ring. I don’t ask for your forgiveness or for you to forget. Hermione’s screams echoed off the walls upstairs, Ron was half sobbing as he pounded the walls with his fists. Harry was not even sure that it had really been there. He tilted the shard of mirror this way and that, and saw nothing reflected there but the walls and ceiling of their prison, and upstairs Hermione was screaming worse than ever, and next to him Ron was bellowing, “HERMIONE! HERMIONE!”
